Change can be a difficult obstacle to overcome especially when you’re used to life passing you by without meaning or you have no structure or goals in place…until I started training with Julia at Empoweru!

Why did I take on Julia?
She struck me from the beginning as someone who would not let me off the hook and would hold my feet to the fire on what I committed to do and achieve. I wanted someone with whom I could confide and discuss my personal and business situations in a fast-moving ever-changing environment, from clarifying my own personal goals to implementation and delivering results. I consider myself a well-educated post graduate with an MBA combined with many years successful experience in business, from running my own start-up company to being an active member on the board of directors of £400m+ companies. Someone to enable me to clarify my dreams and convert them into reality. I started with Julia as my Leadership Coach over 3 years ago.
What have I gained?
All of the above and more. She has given me a three-dimensional perspective of what I am doing, pointing out possible blind spots and considering how to engage others to build high performance teams. She has helped me react quickly and effectively as a leader, preventing me getting bogged down in management minutiae and corporate cloning - in other words, someone who looks out for me.
How have we worked together?
Regular phone calls on a flexible basis - weekly half-hour calls in the start- up phase to monthly one-hour calls to keep me focused and on track. She has been quick to point out my weaker traits while focusing on playing to my strengths. In time she has become familiar with my patterns of behaviour particularly when under pressure when I am more likely to let slip advantages. She has adjusted her approach to meet my needs. It hasn't been comfortable and that's not what I wanted. She consistently gets me to raise my game and as a result also members of my teams.

I approached Julia to see if she could help by providing some soft skills training for our trainees. Julia was quickly able to turn my requirements and ideas in to a coherent plan. Using the agreed plan, Julia then delivered the training in a professional, seamless and efficient manner. From the feedback received from our trainees, I know that they have learnt memorable and valuable skills which they are already putting to good use as we have had positive feedback from our own clients.
